About The Position

This role involves supervising employees in day-to-day operations to ensure safety, quality, and productivity. The Production Supervisor will maintain and improve production throughput, manage direct labor costs in collaboration with the Production Manager, and ensure compliance with established run speeds and set-up times. The position requires addressing mechanical, operational, and technical downtime issues, providing support for on-the-job assignments and continuous improvement initiatives, and clearly communicating expectations to employees on shift. Responsibilities also include reviewing and initialing Quality Check lists, maintaining logs and reporting documents, adhering to safety regulations, and emailing shift production recaps and issues to management. Additionally, the role involves training, motivating, and mentoring employees, conducting performance evaluations, enforcing company policies and GMPs, maintaining a positive working environment, monitoring report-offs, filling vacancies, and approving timesheets. Participation in weekly and monthly meetings is also expected.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent and applicable work-related experience
  • Previous experience with Lean, Six Sigma or other relevant continuous improvement methods preferred (not required)
  • Technical Training preferred (not required)
  • Industrial Safety Training preferred (not required)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise employees in the day-to-day operations to ensure safety, quality, and productivity
  • Maintain and improve production throughout and work with Production Manager to maintain direct labor cost
  • Ensure compliance with established run speeds
  • Ensure compliance with established set up time
  • Address mechanical, operational, and technical downtime issues with department
  • Provide support for on the job assignments and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Clearly communicate expectations to employees on shift
  • Review and initial Quality Check list at order start up and during run
  • Maintain all required logs and reporting documents and adhere to all safety regulations, procedures and policies
  • Email Plant Manager and Services Manager recap of shift production by machine. Also, lists issues with any machine that did not meet production requirements.
  • Train, motivate, and mentor employees (both new and existing employees)
  • Conduct performance evaluations for all new hires (bi-monthly) and Operators (monthly)
  • Enforces Company policies, quality procedures, and Good Manufacturing Polices (GMPs) by ensuring employees understand and follow rules, addresses non-compliance on the shift it occurs, and documents issues for further action
  • Maintain a positive working environment among employees
  • Monitors Report offs and fills vacancy
  • Reviews, updates, and approves shifts’ timesheets daily
  • Participate in Weekly and Monthly Meetings
