About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for promoting a safe work environment, managing the daily operations of the production area, and ensuring the timely resolution of associate performance concerns. This role involves planning and establishing work schedules, monitoring operations for quality and effectiveness, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives. The supervisor also plays a key role in developing and training associates, ensuring compliance with company policies, and fostering a culture of respect, integrity, and excellence. The position is based in Valdosta, GA, and operates on a Monday - Friday schedule from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM.

Requirements

  • 2 years’ supervisory experience in a related environment (for example, logistics / supply chain, dairy plant, food processing, manufacturing).
  • 2 years’ experience in clerical-related responsibilities (for example, filing, data entry) and computer applications (for example, email, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Visio).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, food science or related area.
  • Packaging experience within a related environment (for example, dairy production, food processing, and manufacturing).
  • Supervisory experience in a dairy plant, food processing or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes a safe work environment by ensuring associates utilize proper safety equipment.
  • Maintains work areas, ensuring they are free of debris, equipment is operational and clean, and hazards are removed.
  • Requests materials, supplies, parts, and repair services.
  • Manages the daily operation of the production area by planning and establishing work schedules and assignments.
  • Monitors and evaluates operations, programs, processes, and practices for quality and effectiveness.
  • Inspects materials, products, and equipment for defects or malfunctions.
  • Assists in production sequence planning to meet production goals and provide superior customer service.
  • Ensures the timely resolution of associate performance concerns.
  • Completes and analyzes departmental reports.
  • Manages the continuous improvement Lean culture by documenting and implementing new and improved processes.
  • Participates in new hire and ongoing associate training.
  • Provides process improvement guidance related to waste control, quality management, and process effectiveness.
  • Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identifying and communicating goals and objectives, building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results, identifying and addressing improvement opportunities, and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning.
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring and training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy, and providing direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices.
