The Production Supervisor guides the day-to-day activities for a segment within the industrial, specialty, and medical distribution and gas filling operations of a production location. This position assists with coordinating all gas cylinder processing, ultrasonic testing, and alignment with all Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), SAFECOR, and other business-related compliance activities. Supports and guides the activities of 2 or more plant production associates to accomplish team goals. Nurtures a strong safety and compliance culture, proactively addressing unsafe acts or conditions. Assigns tasks to team members according to customers’ needs, current stock levels, and the strengths of each associate. Reviews production schedules and evaluates team capacity to ensure the successful completion of assignments. Maintains time and production records. Translates company policies for the team and upholds safety standards. Implements measures to advance production methods, equipment performance, and product quality; fosters an environment that increases the effectiveness of the work crew. Collaborates on plans to inspire the team to achieve collective goals. Analyzes and resolves work challenges, or assists associates in finding solutions. Recommends or initiates associate actions, such as new hires, promotions, transfers, offboarding, and performance guidance. Provides onboarding for new associates and cross-trains the team to ensure continuous production. Provides assistance to the Plant Manager with regard to planning and managing capital investments. Coordinates the proper inventory levels of supplies and equipment. Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment. Creates a safe work environment by contributing to zero preventable accidents and ensuring continuous alignment with company safety rules, standard operating procedures, and governmental regulations. Analyzes and resolves work challenges, and may assist drivers in finding solutions. Creates load sheets for production loaders to prepare trucks for on-time delivery.
