About The Position

Directs shift production operations, including checking formulas, assigning work tasks, and monitoring procedures and schedules to ensure adherence to standards. The position requires competency in on-the-job activities that may directly or indirectly affect product safety, legality, or quality. The supervisor may also be responsible for operating facility metal detectors, which requires full training and certification.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of the AIB Bakery Science Residence Program.
Completion of a formal management skills training program.

Nice To Haves

Two or more years of experience in all areas of plant production work.

Responsibilities

Instruct production technicians and outsourced labor in the care and safe operation of equipment, and monitor their use of equipment.
Review records and procedures to ensure proper use of time and materials.
Continuously inspect products to ensure quality standards are met.
Ensure all equipment is in good operating condition.
Promote positive employee relations and interdepartmental communication and cooperation.
Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety policies and procedures, conducting inspections, and holding periodic safety meetings.
Plan and adjust personnel work assignments to cover all phases of production.
Operate facility metal detectors when assigned; the operator must be fully trained and certified.
Ensure employee compliance with work rules.
Assist with employee training.
Recommend disciplinary action and participate in the disciplinary action process as necessary.
Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including EEO, sexual harassment, safety, and Sarbanes-Oxley policies.
Fulfill work schedules, follow attendance policies, and comply with other applicable operating rules, policies, and procedures.
Perform other duties deemed by management to be an integral part of the job.
