About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations while fostering a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. This role translates business objectives into operational execution by ensuring production goals are achieved through effective workforce planning, employee development, Lean Manufacturing principles, and cross-functional collaboration. The Production Supervisor leads frontline employees, and team leads, drives operational performance, supports employee engagement, and develops high-performing teams that consistently deliver results aligned with Vestas' safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience in a manufacturing, production, industrial, or related environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems and other manufacturing-related software platforms.
  • Strong communication, coaching, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and 5S principles.
  • Experience utilizing root cause analysis and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams with a high degree of adaptability and flexibility.
  • Strong desire to learn new skills and continuously develop knowledge.
  • Excellent work ethic, dependability, and dedication to team and company success.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Wind energy, composites manufacturing, or advanced manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily production activities to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Execute production plans efficiently while ensuring adherence to takt time and customer commitments.
  • Monitor production performance, identify barriers, and make real-time operational decisions to maintain production flow.
  • Ensure adequate workforce planning and resource allocation to meet production requirements.
  • Coordinate activities across shifts and collaborate with support functions to maintain operational continuity.
  • Ensure accurate production reporting and data integrity within manufacturing systems.
  • Ensure team members have the tools, resources, and knowledge required to meet production expectations.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety-first culture where safety is a core value and daily expectation.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and company policies and procedures.
  • Lead safety observations, audits, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Drive employee ownership of workplace safety and proactively address risks.
  • Ensure products meet all quality standards through training, process adherence, inspections, and performance monitoring.
  • Hold teams accountable for standard work, quality requirements, and process compliance.
  • Lead, coach, and develop hourly employees and team leads to achieve operational and individual performance goals.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, coaching conversations, and development planning.
  • Establish clear expectations for performance, behaviors, attendance, and accountability.
  • Support onboarding, training, workforce development, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Foster an inclusive, respectful, and engaging work environment that promotes teamwork and employee growth.
  • Support self-managed team concepts and employee ownership of results.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives to improve safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Lead structured problem-solving activities using root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to reduce waste, improve processes, and optimize operational performance.
  • Participate in operational reviews and ensure timely completion of improvement actions.
  • Challenge existing processes and continuously seek opportunities to improve cost, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Maintain effective communication with employees, peers, leadership, and cross-functional partners.
  • Partner with Planning, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Logistics, Human Resources, and EHS teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Escalate concerns appropriately and communicate operational priorities clearly and consistently.
  • Build strong working relationships that support a high-performance manufacturing environment.
  • Relentlessly communicate both inward and outward to ensure alignment across the business.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess situations, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
