About The Position

The primary purpose of this role is to lead the safe, efficient, and on-time production of quality material that meets customer requirements. The Production Supervisor will motivate, mentor, train, and model the Code of Conduct behavior in the production team. This role involves leadership, safety, quality, and productivity responsibilities within various production areas including Compounding, Recycling, Wash lines, Size Reduction, Blending & Pulverizing.

Requirements

High School diploma or of equivalent value.
Three years of Manufacturing (plastic preferred) supervisor experience.
Computer data entry skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Excellent interpersonal people management and problem-solving skills.
Detail oriented and ability to prioritize.
Ability to multi-task.
Possess problem solving skills and ability to perform root cause analysis.
Self-motivator.
Ability to operate a fork truck.

Complete all business administrative requirements with accuracy and in a timely manner (e.g., time cards, annual reviews, production work order packets).
Ensure the safety of his/her employees and the safe operation of the plant while on shift.
Model safety in his/her behaviors, conversations, and decisions.
Mentor and coach team on safety practices.
Conduct safety huddles at the beginning of the shift.
Supervise team to follow Ravago Life Safety Rules.
Supervise the use of PPE and adherence to the PPE Matrix.
Engage the team on the safe operation of forklifts.
Direct housekeeping practices during the shift.
Supervise the prevention of pellet spills and any other environmental impact at the site.
Ensure the team is trained according to the plan.
Report in a timely manner any safety and environmental incidents.
Ensure his/her team has a quality mindset and is responsible for product quality while on shift.
Lead the team to produce quality product, on-time in accordance with the production schedule.
Assist with/lead root cause investigations for Internal and Customer Corrective and Preventive actions.
Supervise the formula and testing integrity during the shift.
Report and request proper authorization for any material change.
Supervise with the lab to ensure timely testing of blend properties and offline testing.
Ensure the team is gainfully employed and productively producing product to meet shift/day/weekly and monthly production requirements.
Form a complete team that can complete all aspects of running a shift.
Request assistance from site leadership when there are gaps that prevent his/her team from meeting business expectations.
Ensure all production activities are performed, documented, and completed to required standards of safety, completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
Be diligent in accounting for material and ensuring the work order process is followed.
Oversee, guide, and participate in shift training of all production employees and new hires.
Apply the RMA 7S for Success standards to the work area and all tasks.
Uphold the Ravago Code of Conduct standards.
Make decisions based on facts.
Complete all production records: Closing orders, Control Plans, Order preparation, Reporting.
Execute changeovers first time right and improve response time.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Compounding Plant Manager.
