About The Position

HindlePower is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead the team responsible for building battery cabinets. This is a hands-on supervisory role where you will be accountable for the performance of your area and your team. You will set standards for work execution, develop your team members, and ensure predictable production flow. Collaboration with Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering is key to ensure materials, drawings, and priorities align with your team's needs.

Requirements

  • Experience supervising or leading a team in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong understanding of shop floor operations, workflow, and production scheduling.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Quality, Supply Chain, or Engineering.
  • Comfort working in an ERP system for scheduling and inventory.
  • Willingness to have direct conversations, including uncomfortable ones.
  • Ability to coach and develop people, not just direct them.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfort making decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Must be able to spend most of the day on the production floor, standing and walking.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Safety glasses and steel toe footwear are required on the floor.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Made2Manage (M2M) and Shop Floor Manager (SFM) ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead your team, owning performance by setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and completing reviews.
  • Approve timecards and time off requests, and manage staffing coverage against the production schedule.
  • Participate in interviewing candidates and have a voice in hiring decisions.
  • Develop team members, including fostering working leads within the area.
  • Support onboarding, training, and cross-training to enable flexibility in staffing.
  • Be accountable for the area's performance in safety, quality, on-time delivery, productivity, and labor efficiency, taking action when targets are at risk.
  • Assign and prioritize work based on the production schedule, staffing levels, and material availability.
  • Respond quickly to disruptions and work to restore standard operations.
  • Raise issues that originate outside the area rather than working around them.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area, and follow through on safety concerns.
  • Partner with Quality to identify, investigate, and resolve defects, and maintain process control at the team level.
  • Partner with Supply Chain on material availability, staging, and inventory accuracy within the area.
  • Partner with Engineering on drawing questions, product changes, and manufacturability.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives within the area.
