About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all production activities and employees within their assigned department(s). This role involves ensuring efficient and safe operations, maintaining quality standards, and managing personnel to meet business demands. The supervisor will be actively involved in the day-to-day operations, providing guidance and support to the production team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two to four years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of production practices and procedures, especially for food and personal care manufacturing
  • Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Ability to practice any and all safety requirements and cautions
  • Ability to use manufacturing software/systems
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds

Nice To Haves

  • Some college preferred
  • Familiarity with Deacom manufacturing software
  • Bilingual skills a plus

Responsibilities

  • Supervises production line set-up, including testing and adjusting equipment before operation and ensuring timely starts.
  • Supervises all production activities performed by employees, maintaining a high degree of visibility and access.
  • Establishes and maintains department standards for productivity, reliability, and accuracy.
  • Monitors and reports daily production results, material usage, waste, and downtime.
  • Reports equipment problems to the appropriate department and production manager.
  • Coordinates with quality control to maintain quality standards and implements corrective actions for deficiencies.
  • Forecasts staffing needs, trains, motivates, coaches, rewards, and disciplines employees, and resolves personnel issues.
  • Coordinates with the production manager on personnel matters such as PTO, time card approval, overtime, hiring, and training.
  • Performs administrative tasks and prepares required reports and correspondence.
  • Assists the production manager with policy and procedure development and implementation, ensuring employee adherence.
  • Inspects equipment and facilities for proper sanitation and takes corrective action.
  • Resolves production-related issues with representatives from other departments.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all operating systems pertaining to the work area.
  • Maintains safety programs and ensures all required safety training for employees is completed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
