About The Position

This role provides shift leadership, guidance, and supervision to all hourly employees in production, sanitation, quality, safety, and warehousing. The Production Supervisor works closely with all members of management staff and corporate resources to ensure the highest quality of finished product is produced within scheduled timelines in a safe and efficient manner. This includes training and developing people, making corrections as needed, coordinating with Production Leads and Trainers, and providing input for performance reviews while actively coaching and mentoring employees. The position upholds Land O'Lakes Core Values and Leadership Expectations. Additionally, the role coordinates and utilizes available resources to formulate action plans for process and quality improvements, project implementations, and cost reduction. Responsibilities include conducting regular inspections and production audits, compiling reports, supporting plant quality, safety, sanitation, and MCP programs, and coordinating resources to comply with regulatory issues. The supervisor facilitates hiring, coaching, directing employees, and evaluating work performance, providing necessary orientation and training. They also confer with management on production problems and recommend improvements. All other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma Required
  • 2 plus years food manufacturing and leadership experience.
  • Processing/manufacturing environment experience
  • Experience with GMP's, HAACP, sanitation, and quality assurance highly desired

Responsibilities

  • Making corrections as needed, coordinating with Production Leads and Trainers.
  • Providing and gathering input to performance reviews and actively coaching/mentoring employees.
  • Coordinating and utilizing available resources to formulate action plans for process and quality improvements, project implementations, and cost reduction.
  • Conducting regular inspections and production audits; compiling required reports.
  • Supporting plant quality, safety, sanitation, and MCP programs.
  • Coordinating resources to assist in complying with regulatory issues including safety, GMP’s, environmental sanitation, and workers compensation.
  • Facilitating hiring, coaching, and directing employees and evaluating work performance.
  • Providing employees with appropriate orientation and training.
  • Confers with management and production personnel on production problems.
  • Recommending changes to improve production and quality standards.
  • Encouraging safe work techniques for all employees and taking corrective action as necessary to maintain safety compliance.
  • Following plant safety rules, procedures and performing all duties safely to reduce the risk of injury.
  • Ensuring First Report of Injuries and Supervisor Accident Investigations are completed as required.
  • Performing Safety Observations and reporting findings as required.
  • Attending annual safety refresher courses.
  • Leading and managing employees in a positive manner.
  • Providing both written and verbal communication to effectively relay information.
  • Developing written procedures, adding appropriate details so employees can follow.
  • Multi-tasking and remaining flexible enough to shift priorities as the need arises.
  • Reviewing schedules, planning, and scheduling personnel to achieve results.
