About The Position

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. This role oversees the safe operations of manufacturing, shipping, and receiving of metal building components as prescribed by specifications and order releases. The position requires familiarity with machinery and manufacturing processes for each line/department, identifying process improvements for efficiency and cost savings, and fostering communication within the division and buildings group for teamwork and a productive work environment. The supervisor will also review teammate performance, determine coaching needs, set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and be involved in interviewing, hiring, development, and accountability of teammates. The role may require travel with short notice and a commitment to living Nucor’s values and influencing teammates to do the same, along with a growth mindset for department and division improvement.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience in related field
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations
  • Experience with coaching and mentoring
  • Experience with troubleshooting production lines and material handling systems
