About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for turning the production plan into safe, high-quality execution. This position will lead Department Leads, collaborate cross-functionally, balance labor and resources, remove barriers to production, and ensure customer commitments and revenue objectives are achieved. This leadership role will foster a culture of safety, quality, accountability, collaboration and engagement. The Production Supervisor provides hands-on leadership across daily manufacturing operations, translating monthly production requirements into clear daily priorities while proactively identifying schedule risks and driving recovery actions. Success requires strong people leadership, disciplined execution, sound decision-making, and a continuous-improvement mindset.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Associate's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Science, Operations Management or related field or equivalent education and experience.
  • Min 1-3 years demonstrated experience leading production or manufacturing operations.
  • Strong understanding of capacitors or related electronic components and manufacturing processes highly preferred.
  • Experience supervising frontline leaders, leads, or manufacturing teams.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, labor allocation, and manufacturing performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and recover production schedules when commitments are at risk.
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate teams, with excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety, product quality, and compliance.
  • Experience using operational data and problem-solving methods to improve productivity, throughput, quality, and cost.
  • Ability to coach employees, provide effective performance feedback, and develop emerging leaders.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to make timely operating decisions and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with ERP systems and process automation.
  • Strong technical aptitude and hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Must be considered a U.S. Person eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Translate monthly production plans and revenue targets into daily priorities and execution plans.
  • Set production priorities, sequence work, and direct Department Leads to meet schedule requirements.
  • Monitor production performance and proactively identify schedule, capacity, labor, and material risks.
  • Develop and execute recovery plans before customer commitments are impacted.
  • Reallocate available labor and recommend overtime, staffing, and cross-training based on production requirements.
  • Escalate constraints requiring cross-functional support and expedite priority work when necessary.
  • Ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with approved quality, manufacturing, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain focus on on-time delivery while protecting product quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Stop or hold work when safety, quality, compliance, or product risks are identified.
  • Initiate containment, corrective action, and recovery activities when performance falls below expectations.
  • Drive improvement in first-pass yield while reducing scrap, rework, nonconformances, and production downtime.
  • Lead and develop Department Leads, with responsibility for both their performance and the performance of their departments.
  • Establish clear expectations, staffing priorities, and accountability for execution.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and provide ongoing coaching, development, and candid performance feedback.
  • Recognize strong performance and address performance or behavioral concerns promptly.
  • Develop leadership capability within the organization and build the next level of manufacturing leaders.
  • Models professional and ethical behavior in all communication, reporting and decision making.
  • Promote cross-training and maintain appropriate skills coverage to support production requirements.
  • Ensure timesheets are accurate and approved ready for bi-weekly payroll processing.
  • Use production and operating data to improve productivity, throughput, quality, cost, and workflow.
  • Identify and remove production bottlenecks.
  • Reduce recurring problems through effective root-cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Initiate continuous improvement activities and ensure actions are completed and sustained.
  • Make routine operating decisions necessary to keep production moving and customer commitments on track.
  • Models professional and ethical behavior in all communication, reporting, and decision making.
