About The Position

As a Production Supervisor, you will play a key role in contributing to the continued success of One Degree Organics. You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic production work environment and will have the opportunity to learn new skills and work in a team setting. In this role, you are responsible for completing the duties listed below as well as other duties as assigned by your manager or their designate. Although the position is assigned to a specific shift, employees may be required to work different hours from time to time to support operational and business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily shift huddles.
  • Investigate and address employee conflicts and relationship issues.
  • Lead and document investigations into workplace injuries or near-misses.
  • Prepare and submit daily shift reports and summaries; review and address emails.
  • Communicate corporate updates and announcements to the team.
  • Ensure accurate and timely approval of team members' worked hours, with diligent follow-up and appropriate disciplinary measures for absenteeism and call-offs.
  • Monitor line operations to ensure efficiency and waste key performance indicators meet or exceed set targets.
  • Launch investigations and collaborate with lead hands to implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct hourly audits of line performances to achieve standards and review/update current operational standards across all production areas.
  • Ensure complete compliance and consistency among lead hands and team members.
  • Make off-hour downtime decisions.
  • Enforce safety standards.
  • Make proper escalations and recommendations to the Production Manager.
  • Monitor and ensure operator adherence to all process specifications.
  • Take full responsibility for shift performance.
  • Act as a key member in collaboration between production, warehouse, quality, safety, and maintenance departments.
  • Provide leadership in problem-solving.
  • Offer recommendations to reporting and senior managers.
  • Understand quality standards thoroughly and provide coaching and training to lead hands and team members.
  • Coordinate with Production, R&D, QC/QA, and Maintenance departments when quality deviations are discovered.
  • Escalate issues to the Production Manager following guidelines.
  • Assist in waste variance analysis, provide feedback and suggestions for countermeasures.
  • Provide training to lead hands and operators on technical knowledge.
  • Train lead hands and operators on equipment operations and basic troubleshooting.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining the skill matrix program for lead hands and line operators.
  • Work with lead hands to maintain or improve performance based on their skill matrix assessment.
  • Identify potential new lead hands and develop appropriate training and arrangement plans.
