We are currently seeking a Production Supervisor to join our team in a full-time, permanent capacity.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3 - 5 years' experience working in the manufacturing industry in a leadership role (food industry experience is considered a strong asset).
  • Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement; LEAN manufacturing experience is an asset.
  • Experience promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture in a high-speed food production environment.
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Experience with Ceridian Day is considered an asset.
  • Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to foster teamwork and collaboration.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a cool environment (2-4 degrees).
  • Creative, solutions-orientated mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, support, and motivate production employees in all areas, including safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Address employee concerns in a timely manner in collaboration with the Production Manager.
  • Track employee time and attendance through Ceridian Dayforce.
  • Coordinate with staffing agencies to schedule temporary workers, approving timesheets, and assisting with shift transitions.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and support in a constructive and respectful manner; administer progressive discipline when required.
  • Manage manufacturing processes, troubleshoot any production related issues, and ensure efficient operations.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance department on preventative maintenance equipment repairs.
  • Train employees and ensure all team members are properly trained and signed off on required SOPs.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance, product quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor workplace health and safety; communicate policies and actively participate in Joint Health & Safety Committee initiatives.
  • Enforce and ensure compliance with ISO, HACCP, GMP and food safety standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the Canada Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and ensure adherence to food safety requirements.
  • Ensure all products meet company and customer quality specifications.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Maintain facility standards as required.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
