About The Position

The Production Supervisor is a leadership position that supports the Production Manager (VSM) and supervises a hard-working team of machine operators who make wipes for our customers. This important position oversees operations on manufacturing value streams to ensure everything runs seamlessly every day so that our customers’ shelves stay full – and so their customers can buy the wipes they need for their baby, teenager, significant other or parent (or even their pet!) when they need to. Our best Production Supervisors are masters of juggling many things at once and have knowledge of manufacturing basics like quality (cGMP) standards, waste reduction, continuous improvement, and productivity and operational equipment efficiencies (OEE). We also prefer that each supervisor has experience in leading and supervising others. Secondary education in a field related to management or business is also preferred but definitely not required. We expect our supervisors to be professional, results and performance-oriented, highly engaged in the business, and be able to drive engagement within their teams.

Requirements

A high school education and demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing environment OR a bachelor’s degree in management (or another closely related field).
Ability to follow directions yet often work independently, and know when it's the right time to adjust your work style accordingly.
Ability to stand and walk for much of the shift.
Ability to sit for long periods of time.
Ability to stretch, bend, squat, climb, or lift up to 25 pounds to complete a task.
Ability to read and understand basic math principles.
Ability to solve problems.
Resourcefulness on a computer, including Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

Experience in leading and supervising others.

Responsibilities

Providing leadership and directing the daily activities of 15 – 30 machine operators on one or more of our manufacturing value streams that produce our wonderful wipes.
Working closely and partnering with cross-functional leaders from the Safety, Quality, Maintenance, and Warehouse departments.
Keeping employees safe and customers happy.
Anticipating obstacles to prevent downtime on the production lines.
Meeting piece count schedules.
Ensuring the right products are produced at the right time with the right quality and cost.
Working with spreadsheets, reports, emails, presentations, timekeeping, and payroll.
Attending or facilitating various meetings.
Communicating to leadership through data using various shift reports to detail the successes and challenges the production team is experiencing.
Anticipating challenges and solving problems creatively.
Supporting our culture of safety and holding others accountable to it.
Communicating in a respectful, professional, and purposeful way, both in writing and verbally.
Approving payroll on time, coaching for success, being a good listener, providing direct feedback in a respectful manner, and being fair.
