About The Position

The purpose of this position is to direct, coordinate, and to supervise activities concerned with operations and maintaining the warehouse at the Westfield facility.

Requirements

  • Making Decisions and Solving Problems: Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Mathematics: Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, statistics, and their applications.
  • Personal protective equipment (hard hats, safety glasses, etc.), computers, printers, scanners, and copiers.
  • E-mail, ERP software, time management software, and Microsoft Office software.
  • This particular position requires the individual to have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); 5-7 years of prior experience; or a combination of education and prior experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior crane and forklift experience.
  • Prior experience with welding, press brakes, and shears
  • Experience in the steel industry or with metals service center operations.

Responsibilities

  • Works to supply products and services that meet or exceed the customers’ expectations. Follows the documented quality systems and processes to satisfy our customers’ needs.
  • Ensures compliance of guidelines and objectives.
  • Plan, direct, supervise, and perform duties within all operations for the Westfield warehouse. This includes supervising personnel, operating machinery, and performing physical labor.
  • Reviews master schedule and work orders, establishes priorities, and revises schedule according to projects, work order specifications, established priorities, and availability of capability of workers, parts, material, machines, and equipment.
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods, such as linear operators, burn operators, production welders, fabricators, material handlers, and packaging department.
  • Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to customer specifications.
  • Recommends measures to improve methods, performance, and quality of product or services, and suggests changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists employees in solving work problems.
  • Contribute to the completion and effectiveness of training plans, cross training, and training events.
  • Supports in assessing performance, monitoring progress, and addressing issues and concerns.
  • Support in mentoring, coaching, and guiding associates through challenges, tasks, and activities with the vision of motivating others to complete their job effectively.
  • Complete hourly quality checks and observe daily functions in operations.
  • May assist Production Manager or other Supervisors in other duties or special projects as needed.
  • This position is responsible for directing and supervising employees in production operations. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; appraising performance; rewarding/disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
