About The Position

As a Production Supervisor, you will monitor production operations and ensure they deliver maximum quality in a profitable manner. You will oversee employees, organize workflows, and analyze manufacturing-process efficiency. This role leads production teams and daily operations, ensuring products are made efficiently, on time, and in accordance with Freshpet quality standards and applicable industry and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong analytical, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well across all levels of the organization.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
Knowledge of time and attendance systems.
Strong understanding of sanitation processes in a food manufacturing facility.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
Manufacturing supervisory experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred.
Experience implementing SQF programs preferred.
Familiarity with Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing techniques.

Responsibilities

Lead production team members and ensure their safety.
Facilitate daily and weekly production of all products efficiently, on time, and in accordance with Freshpet quality standards.
Manage and direct daily production goals safely, cost-effectively, and efficiently while ensuring industry and regulatory standards are met.
Review production records for accuracy and ensure records are properly maintained.
Ensure sanitation, housekeeping, and facility cleanliness comply with quality standards.
Ensure Operations complies with OSHA and environmental regulations, factory GMPs, food safety requirements, and sanitation requirements.
Analyze labor efficiencies and allocations to meet demand; schedule vacations and time off; manage overtime hours and the timekeeping system.
Develop and motivate direct reports to improve the efficiency of their duties and establish clearly identified goals.
Conduct and document regular communication, production, and safety meetings; keep team members informed and encourage feedback and ideas.
Address team member issues and deliver corrective action related to behavior, safety, quality, GMPs, sanitation, work standards, and time infractions.
Partner with the HR department for direction and guidance as necessary.
Lead or assist with team member orientation and training.
Maintain current, thorough knowledge of the factory and its systems.
Participate as an active team player and motivated individual.
Support continuous improvement in processes and work conditions.
Perform other duties as required.
