About The Position

This position reports to: Integrated Production Unit Manager. The work model for the role is: Onsite, Richmond, VA. In this role as Production Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to lead a team within a Production unit or line to execute production processes, transforming parts and raw materials into ABB products in a timely and cost-effective manner. You will also be responsible for ensuring efficient and cost-effective production results that meet order demand, specifications, quality, and planning targets through the coordination and management of plant equipment, personnel, and production processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree (mechanical/electrical engineering preferred) PLUS minimum 4 years of experience in manufacturing or production environment OR Associate degree PLUS minimum of 6 years of related experience OR HS Diploma/GED PLUS minimum 8 years of related experience.
  • 2+ years of management/supervisor experience, highly preferred
  • SAP experience, a plus
  • Must be flexible to work any shift
  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that production scheduling and production plan meet the volume requirements agreed upon in the demand plan and defined inventory service levels.
  • Recommend technical equipment and facility improvements as necessary; Identifying deficiencies in production area, proposing improvement activities, and overseeing implementation of actions to improve production performance.
  • Managing the resolution of critical product or equipment issues together with relevant internal teams.
  • Prepares annual production budget, oversees progress, and determines actions to cost issues as necessary in order to manage operations within the budget and resources.
