About The Position

To ensure efficient and safe power generation operations, consider the following responsibilities of Utilities Operations Team Captain: Oversee daily operations of power generation facilities to ensure optimal performance. Monitor equipment performance and conduct regular inspections to prevent downtime. Manage and train staff on safety protocols and operational procedures. Coordinate maintenance schedules and troubleshoot equipment issues promptly. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards. Prepare reports on operational efficiency and recommend improvements. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, management skills, and adherence to safety standards to ensure the effective and efficient operation of power generation facilities. A powerhouse supervisor must be a decisive leader capable of operating in high-stress environments while maintaining focus on the broader energy production goals.

Requirements

• Substantial experience, usually 5-10 years, in power plant operations or a similar industrial setting.
• Strong leadership skills and prior supervisory experience are essential.
• Knowledge of industry-specific software and strong analytical abilities to manage operational data.

• Professional certification in plant operations or facility management can be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling and overseeing the routine inspection and maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment within Utilities.
• Implementing and supervising operational and safety procedures to adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
• Analyzing operational data and reports to optimize performance and reduce operational costs.
• Liaising with external suppliers and contractors to secure essential supplies and services.
• Responding to emergency situations or equipment failures with effective problem-solving and leadership.
• Meeting with staff regularly to discuss progress towards goals, changes in protocols, or updates in industry standards.
