About The Position

AGF is seeking a Production Supervisor for their Ottawa shop. This full-time, on-site position involves supervising a team of approximately 25 shop employees in a non-unionized environment. Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Experience in steel fabrication, rebar manufacturing, or a related industry
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication processes: cutting, bending, rigging, material handling, etc.
  • Solid understanding of workplace safety regulations (OHSA, WHMIS, CSA standards)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Basic computer proficiency (Excel, ERP systems, production software)

Nice To Haves

  • Valid forklift certification and/or crane experience is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily production activities, including cutting, bending, and loading of reinforcing steel (rebar)
  • Monitor employee performance, provide direction, support training, and enforce discipline when necessary
  • Ensure production meets job specifications, quality standards, and project deadlines
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations (OHSA, WHMIS)
  • Liaise with engineering/drafting, logistics, and project management to resolve fabrication issues or schedule conflicts
  • Coordinate material flow, inventory checks, and ensure that raw materials and consumables are stocked
  • Conduct inspections and be responsible for QA/QC to ensure accuracy and compliance with client and regulatory standards
  • Operate within lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency
  • Promote teamwork, safety culture, and continuous improvement initiatives across the shop floor
  • Complete shift reports, incident documentation, and timekeeping as required
