About The Position

AGF is seeking a Production Supervisor for their Ottawa shop. This full-time, on-site position involves supervising a team of approximately 25 shop employees in a non-unionized environment. Requirements

5–7+ years of experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Experience in steel fabrication, rebar manufacturing, or a related industry
Strong knowledge of fabrication processes: cutting, bending, rigging, material handling, etc.
Solid understanding of workplace safety regulations (OHSA, WHMIS, CSA standards)
Strong communication and organizational skills
Basic computer proficiency (Excel, ERP systems, production software)

Nice To Haves

Valid forklift certification and/or crane experience is an asset

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily production activities, including cutting, bending, and loading of reinforcing steel (rebar)
Monitor employee performance, provide direction, support training, and enforce discipline when necessary
Ensure production meets job specifications, quality standards, and project deadlines
Conduct daily toolbox talks and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations (OHSA, WHMIS)
Liaise with engineering/drafting, logistics, and project management to resolve fabrication issues or schedule conflicts
Coordinate material flow, inventory checks, and ensure that raw materials and consumables are stocked
Conduct inspections and be responsible for QA/QC to ensure accuracy and compliance with client and regulatory standards
Operate within lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency
Promote teamwork, safety culture, and continuous improvement initiatives across the shop floor
Complete shift reports, incident documentation, and timekeeping as required
