About The Position

This position at JBS USA in Ottumwa is for a Production Supervisor in the Harvest department on the 2nd shift. The role is classified as Exempt. The supervisor will be responsible for meeting and exceeding production goals, supervising production employees, ensuring adherence to proper procedures, safety, and cleanliness, and enforcing policy compliance. Key responsibilities include meeting volume goals, reducing claims, maximizing yields, controlling costs, retaining employees, and maintaining positive relationships with the Union, USDA, and maintenance staff. The role also requires ensuring compliance with food safety, human resources, and safety policies.

Requirements

High School degree or equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
1-2 years proven supervisory experience in the Beef or Pork Industry
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally in English
Computer knowledge required
Good organizational skills
Ability to work 50+ hours
Good attendance and safety records
Good attendance record (Less than 3 points, for internal candidates)

Responsibilities

Meet and exceed production goals set forth by plant management
Supervise production employees

Perform various duties as assigned
Responsible for meeting volume goals, reducing claims, maximizing yields, reducing cost, employee retention and maintain good working relationships with the Union, USDA (meat), and maintenance employees
