About The Position

The Production Supervisor provides direction and instruction to ensure operational objectives and work plans are met in the Packaging operation. The role coordinates daily staffing and assignments, communicates workflow priorities to line leads, monitors productivity, and supports safe and orderly production operations. The supervisor reports to the Assistant or Production Manager and has a Line Lead as a direct report. The position is non-exempt and is based in a warehouse environment with changing temperatures.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to prioritize and understand special projects.
Ability to understand, enforce, and follow company policies and procedures.
Familiarity with working with temporary staffing agencies.
Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office and software applications.
Good leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

Prior supervisory experience.
Prior experience in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

Communicate daily production-floor workflows and priorities to line leads.
Contact temporary staffing agencies daily to ensure personnel needs are met.
Record and report hours worked by full-time and temporary staff, and assign weekly schedules, including days off.
Monitor personnel productivity.
Handle line clearance before and after each changeover.
Gather and review daily paperwork from line leads regarding machine operations.
Ensure cleanliness throughout the Packaging operation.
Assign line workers to machines and jobs each day.
Coordinate cross-training of line workers across job duties.
Prepare annual employee performance evaluations with input from line leads.
Coach and counsel employees and take disciplinary action as required in conjunction with the Assistant Production Manager.
Participate in production meetings.
Review daily production downtime related to material or labor issues.
Assist with inventory control to ensure inventory is available for each project.
Assist in assigning products to production lines.
