About The Position

This is where we make life-saving products! As the Production Supervisor, Plating, you will lead daily plating and wastewater treatment operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient production. You will provide frontline leadership, develop employees, drive accountability, and support continuous improvement to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. You will lead a team of production and wastewater treatment employees responsible for supporting plating operations and environmental compliance. You will work closely with EHS, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and improve performance.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent experience by combination of education and work experience in a specific subject area.
  • Minimum three years of manufacturing leadership experience, including direct supervision of hourly employees
  • Demonstrated ability to set expectations, coach employees, manage performance, resolve conflict, apply consistent accountability, and build team ownership.
  • Working knowledge of production scheduling, safety and environmental compliance, quality systems, standard work, Lean Daily Management, root cause problem solving, and 6S.
  • Ability to use production, labor, quality, downtime, and compliance data to make decisions and communicate concise updates.
  • Strong judgment, organization, follow-through, and floor-level problem-solving skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively across EHS, quality, maintenance, engineering, planning, HR, suppliers, and plant leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with clear verbal and written communication skills.

  • Bachelor degree preferred
  • plating, chemical-processing, wastewater, maintenance, or other regulated-process experience preferred.
  • Wastewater treatment experience or an Indiana industrial wastewater operator certification is preferred; required training must be completed where applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide visible daily supervision on the production floor; set priorities, assign work, monitor execution, and address issues at the point of work.
  • Supervise, coach, train, and develop assigned employees; communicate expectations, recognize performance, address attendance or conduct concerns, and apply corrective action when required.
  • Plan staffing, schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet daily requirements while controlling labor and overtime.
  • Conduct shift start-up meetings, communicate safety and production priorities, review results, and ensure effective shift handoffs.
  • Hold employees accountable for safety, quality, productivity, housekeeping, standard work, and completion of assigned actions.
  • Enforce PPE, chemical-handling, lockout/tagout, hoist, ventilation, sanitation, and housekeeping requirements; investigate incidents and near misses and complete corrective actions.
  • Ensure work follows approved instructions, control plans, specifications, inspection requirements, process controls, and environmental permits.
  • Lead Lean Daily Management, including Hour-by-Hour tracking, Zone Control, leader standard work, Go & See, issue escalation, and action follow-up.
  • Monitor production, quality, downtime, scrap, chemical usage, labor, and overtime; communicate results, risks, and recovery actions.
  • Lead root cause problem solving and verify corrective actions are completed and sustained.
  • Partner with EHS, quality, maintenance, engineering, facilities, planning, HR, and suppliers to resolve operational issues and improve equipment reliability.
  • Maintain employee training and qualification records and ensure personnel are capable of safely performing assigned work.
  • Lead the plating operation's recovery to company GPS standards.
  • Manage multiple cross-functional projects involving safety, environmental compliance, quality systems, facility conditions, visual management, standard work, equipment reliability, material flow, and process control.
  • Lead practical improvements in safety, compliance, quality, flow, 6S, visual management, and standard work; support larger projects as assigned.
