About The Position

The Production Supervisor, Manufacturing is responsible for promoting a safe work environment, maintaining work areas, managing daily operations, monitoring and evaluating operations, inspecting materials, assisting with production sequence planning, resolving associate performance concerns, completing and analyzing departmental reports, promoting a continuous improvement and Lean culture, participating in new hire onboarding and training, and providing process improvement guidance. This role also involves coordinating job-related activities, overseeing associates, and ensuring compliance with company policies and standards. The supervisor is expected to build high-performing teams, foster a culture of inclusion, act with integrity, serve customers, and strive for excellence through continuous learning and improvement.

Requirements

  • 2 years’ supervisory experience in a related environment (for example, logistics / supply chain, dairy plant, food processing, manufacturing).
  • 2 years’ experience in clerical-related responsibilities (for example, filing, data entry) and computer applications (for example, email, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Visio).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, food science or related area.
  • Packaging experience within a related environment (for example, dairy production, food processing, and manufacturing).
  • Supervisory experience in a dairy plant, food processing or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes a safe work environment by ensuring associates use the appropriate safety equipment and follow established safety procedures.
  • Maintains work areas by ensuring floors are free of debris, equipment is operational and clean, and workplace hazards are promptly removed.
  • Requests materials, supplies, parts, and repair services as needed to support operational requirements.
  • Manages the daily operation of the production area by planning work schedules, assigning tasks, and ensuring production objectives are met.
  • Monitors and evaluates operations, programs, processes, and practices to ensure quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Inspects materials, products, and equipment for defects, damage, or malfunctions.
  • Assists with production sequence planning to meet production goals and provide superior customer service.
  • Ensures the timely resolution of associate performance concerns through coaching, feedback, and corrective action when appropriate.
  • Completes and analyzes departmental reports to support operational decision-making and performance improvement.
  • Promotes a continuous improvement and Lean culture by documenting, implementing, and sustaining process improvements.
  • Participates in new hire onboarding and ongoing associate training and development.
  • Provides process improvement guidance related to waste reduction, quality management, productivity, and process effectiveness.
  • Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives, identifying and communicating goals, building accountability, identifying and addressing opportunities for improvement, and demonstrating adaptability.
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring and training, mentoring and coaching, assigning duties, recognizing performance, and promoting a culture of inclusion.
