This role oversees and monitors the day-to-day operations of assigned production areas, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. The Production Supervisor I is responsible for managing work in progress, assigning jobs, and coordinating employee rotations. They participate in the scheduling process, review production schedules, and communicate them to Leads and employees to ensure daily production targets are met. This position involves producing and reviewing daily production reports, tracking schedule adherence and efficiencies, and providing this information to management. Key performance indicators (KPIs) in the production area must be met or exceeded, with daily productivity measured against established standards. Collaboration with other departments is essential for obtaining necessary supplies, products, and equipment. The supervisor works with other supervisors to resolve common issues and foster teamwork across shifts. Recommendations for improving production methods, equipment performance, and product quality are expected. Monitoring product quality and working with the Quality department to ensure specifications are met is a key responsibility. This includes ensuring products and packaging are neat, clean, correctly packed, and labeled. The role requires ensuring safety and quality policies and procedures are followed and enforced, and actively participating in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. Supporting positive employee relations, ensuring fair treatment and respect, and addressing employee concerns in a timely manner are crucial. The supervisor will actively engage in team performance through objective setting, performance measurement, guidance, and coaching. Participation in Tier II meetings and adherence to the company's Core Values and operating tenets are required. Compliance with safety and GMP requirements is mandatory.
