The Production Supervisor - Day position exists to provide technical, quality, procedural, and associate leadership on the production shifts. This role provides guidance and leadership to production, quality, maintenance, and warehouse drivers during shift hours, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safety Quality Foods (SQF), and ISO standards and programs. The supervisor evaluates team member performance, enforces policy, and administers disciplinary action when necessary. They make recommendations for improved and more efficient methods of operation, control rework and regrind levels, and determine workforce utilization based on production demands. This role is responsible for the accuracy of production reporting (JDE/WEBEFF) and adheres to all manufacturing standards and production schedules. Effective communication of company directives and plant information to staff via regular meetings is crucial. The supervisor coordinates production activities for manufacturing areas to ensure production goals of EFF and MEEF are achieved, completes and submits production-related paperwork, and is responsible for maintaining and adhering to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements. They are responsible for adhering to Food Safety Compliance, responding to any emergency or potential emergency, and maintaining constant vigilance and participation in GMP and SQF practices. This role assists in the prevention of nonconforming product from being shipped to customers, identifies and records problems relating to product, process, and quality systems, and tracks, confirms, and verifies training for employees in the department, scheduling training as needed and required. The supervisor initiates action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems, recommends or provides solutions through designated channels, and suggests actions for continual improvement to products, processes, or systems, verifying the implementation of solutions. They are accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations. This role supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived imminent safety risk, actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving and prioritizing corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health, or safety risks. The supervisor leads all required meetings with safety (e.g., Pre-Shift, Departmental, Change Management, General Communications, Town Hall, etc.), completes incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner. They ensure the proper training and development of all assigned employees, set goals for their organizational unit, achieve goals, and ensure all employees understand and work toward achieving them. The supervisor motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback, identifies and coordinates additional training as needed, and ensures that all Quality, ISO, and SQF Plans are understood and followed by staff. They confirm that all quality checks are being performed by all production personnel as established by the Quality Plans, work closely with quality inspectors and supervisors to identify and minimize quality defects and complaints, and lead staff to accomplish activities in an efficient and safe manner by providing definition of job duties. This role provides training opportunities for staff, conducts performance evaluations, defines criteria for personnel succession planning, and administers coaching/counseling as required in a timely manner. They provide accurate attendance records to human resources indicating any point assessments, enforce personnel policies and procedures, and complete and submit all associated paperwork in a timely manner. The supervisor maintains safe working conditions, assists other departments with special projects as assigned, and actively participates in production management team meetings as requested. They recommend/justify equipment/tooling purchases.
