We are currently looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a 3rd Shift Production Supervisor - Blending Department. The 3rd Shift Production Supervisor - Blending Department is responsible for supervising employees to maximize safety, quality, and productivity. Key responsibilities include daily production scheduling, lot control, inventory accuracy, reporting, sanitation, housekeeping, and adherence to standard operating procedures. Assures correct preparation of powder (order, weight-outs, etc.). Shared responsibility for new methods e.g. 5 S, standardize work, methods improvements and computerized weigh out system. This position may require the employee to work in excess of 40 hours per week. Overtime is scheduled based upon individual job responsibilities and the needs of the department.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Experience in one of the following industries is required: CPG, Food/beverage, pharmaceutical, and/or packaging.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English required.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate employees.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and spoken English and Spanish.
  • Highly organized, methodical, disciplined, and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent multi-tasking abilities are required.
  • Ability to strategically plan to meet production schedules.
  • Utilization of leadership and teambuilding skills for employee growth and retention.
  • Basic computer skills (i.e. Microsoft office programs and internet).
  • Fiscally responsible in department, facility and company, as a whole.
  • Must lead by example, morally and ethically.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree is preferred.
  • Experience with manufacturing machinery and inventory control is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising employees to maximize safety, quality, and productivity.

  • Safety (line inspections, department safety audits, safety meetings).
  • Quality (high quality production, quality audits, clean environment) HACCP, Verification of CCP’s.
  • Develop and operate within SOPs.
  • Cost/Production efficiency, maintenance, strategic planning for the continuation of production.
  • Employee relations issues.
  • Prioritizes and schedules own work and work of direct reports.
  • Develops long-range objectives and plans to meet them (i.e. safety, sanitation, etc.)
  • Checks the quality and timeliness of own work and work of direct reports.
  • Communicates company programs, policies and procedures.
  • Orients new staff members to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Recommends promotions, transfers, demotions, and terminations.
  • Maintains discipline and recommends corrective actions.
  • Ensures all ingredients, WIP, supplies, and tools and equipment are used, cleaned, and stored per SOP’s.
