About The Position

The Production Superintendent I is the frontline leader overseeing daily operations within Pilgrim’s poultry production facility in Ellijay, Georgia. The role ensures production targets are met while maintaining safety, quality assurance, and efficiency standards. Working primarily on the production floor, the superintendent coordinates team duties, monitors equipment and workflow, enforces health and safety requirements, and responds to operational issues in real time.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of previous supervisory experience; leadership experience with 20 or more employees is preferred.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

• A college degree in a related field.
• Leadership experience with 20 or more employees.
• Poultry or food industry experience.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills.

• Organize manpower, materials, equipment, and production schedules to support efficient operations.
• Oversee employee performance and provide positive and corrective feedback.

• Collaborate with other departments to identify opportunities for quality improvement, cost savings, and process enhancements.
• Ensure safety standards are followed and promote a safe working environment for all team members.
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the Plant Operations Team.
