About The Position

The Production Superintendent provides direct leadership and direction to production supervisors and employees across multiple operating areas to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely manufacture and shipment of products that meet established quality standards and customer requirements. The role coordinates production activities across assigned departments, establishes priorities, aligns staffing and resources with production requirements, and works with support functions to maintain effective workflow. The position is accountable for safety, quality, production, delivery, cost, and employee performance objectives. It uses established policies, procedures, production standards, and guidance from plant leadership to make operational decisions and resolve issues. The Production Superintendent also develops production supervisors, strengthens accountability, and promotes teamwork and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Direct production and manufacturing in accordance with process and product specifications, quality standards, delivery schedules, and standard costs, improving operational efficiency, economy, and safety.
• Provide a safe work environment that meets or exceeds regulatory compliance levels.
• Work with suppliers and recommend to the Plant Manager the equipment and supplies needed to maintain an efficient, up-to-date manufacturing facility.
• Coordinate engineering on new projects and existing equipment upgrades.
• Prepare backup data for AFE’s.
• Prepare monthly safety-meeting discussion points and training materials.
• Prepare budget information and review areas of responsibility for budget compliance.
• Guide supervisors in maintaining satisfactory employee and labor relations, safety, and teamwork within a Total Quality framework.
• Develop and mentor facility supervisors and foster their leadership capabilities.
• Coordinate operational phases and workflow with maintenance, technical and quality resources, raw material procurement, and safety and environmental functions.
• Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement, respond actively to customer needs, and remain open and responsive to change.
