About The Position

The Production Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and high-quality operation of manufacturing processes within the production environment. This position is responsible for managing and optimizing the use of production equipment, including offset printing and laser machinery, to meet production schedules and quality standards. The specialist will oversee the calibration and maintenance of tooling and printing presses to minimize downtime and maximize output. By closely monitoring the production process, the role ensures that all products meet stringent specifications and customer requirements. Ultimately, the Production Specialist contributes to the seamless flow of manufacturing operations, supporting the company’s commitment to excellence and timely delivery.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in manufacturing or related field preferred.
• Proven experience working with production equipment, specifically offset printing and printing press machinery.
• Strong understanding of production processes and scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to perform equipment calibration and tooling adjustments accurately.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and quality standards in manufacturing settings.
• The required skills such as operating production equipment and managing the production process are essential for daily tasks like running and adjusting laser and engraving machinery to meet production goals.
• Calibration and tooling skills ensure that machinery operates within precise tolerances, directly impacting product quality and reducing waste.
• Understanding the production schedule allows the specialist to prioritize tasks and coordinate with other departments to maintain workflow efficiency.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree or higher in manufacturing technology, industrial engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience with laser production machinery and engraving machinery
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Certification in equipment maintenance or calibration techniques.
• Proficiency with production management software and data tracking tools.
• Preferred skills like knowledge of lean manufacturing and proficiency with production software enhance the ability to identify process improvements and streamline operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain production machinery such as offset printing presses and laser equipment to ensure consistent product quality.
• Monitor and adjust production schedules to meet daily and weekly manufacturing targets while maintaining efficiency.
• Perform routine calibration and tooling adjustments on production equipment to uphold precision and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Document production activities, including machine settings, calibration records, and quality control data, to support continuous improvement initiatives.
