About The Position

The Communications Coordinator supports the Communications team in executing communications plans for assigned focus areas. The role reflects Northwestern Medicine’s mission, vision, and values; adheres to its Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program; and follows applicable policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory and accreditation standards. The position requires careful execution of communications plans and support for team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 1–3 years of experience in communications, project management, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of print production.
• Proficiency in all Microsoft applications.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong customer service orientation.
• Highly motivated and proactive, with a “can-do” attitude.

• Understanding of the healthcare industry and academic medical centers.

Responsibilities

• Use project management capabilities to carry out communications plans.
• Follow the timelines for each tactic and manage responsibilities to ensure delivery.
• Present materials to client partners for feedback, input, and approval as appropriate.
• Proof materials and obtain required approvals, including management, legal/risk, and other approvals.
• Use project management software to manage programs.
• Monitor the effectiveness of communications tactics using analytics and other measurement methods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
