As a Production Specialist – Material Handler (1st Shift) employee with John Deere in Fargo, ND, you will ensure timely and accurate movement and storage of production materials between locations. Perform kitting duties in accordance with pre-established labor and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. OR National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) OR At least 3 years of manufacturing work experience
  • Ability and willingness to operate a stock picker and working up to 10 feet above the ground.
  • Ability and willingness to operate a forklift and maintain applicable certification.
  • Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift; including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
  • Ability and willingness to work 1st shift and potential overtime (including weekends).

Nice To Haves

  • Current experience as a contingent worker in a similar role at John Deere Fargo demonstrating strong performance and attendance.
  • At least 1 year of prior work experience in an assembly, shipping, receiving, or warehouse role that includes forklift operations experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support kitting team with timely and efficient forklift operation.
  • Deliver Kanban materials to production teams as needed.
  • Breakdown and consolidate skids of materials as required.
  • Receive/stock materials into ERP system and file required paperwork.
  • Manage priority parts to ensure priority parts are delivered on a timely basis.
  • Perform inventory transactions for all areas including Kanban.
  • Perform kitting/prepping as required by manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area. Understand and apply 5S principles.
  • Support FIFO inventory procedures.
  • Stock materials into proper stock room location on a daily basis.
  • Ensure safe forklift operation.
  • Ensure required forklift and vehicle inspections are completed.
