This role is responsible for efficiently and accurately pulling material for production orders, performing material stocking, and handling operations throughout the Production Warehouse/Distribution facility, adhering to company policies and safety rules.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Current forklift certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
  • Ability to read English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure, manuals and order specifications.
  • Knowledge of material handling operations, methods and best practices.
  • Ability to add, subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentages.
  • Mechanical and spatial aptitude.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and quality.
  • Enthusiasm, dedication, reliability and punctuality required.
  • Ability to move from task/assignment to another on short notice.
  • Personal computer skills using a variety of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to use computer keyboard/typing skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Two to three years’ experience and/or training in a warehouse environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Off load trailers and verify quantity and routing of material.
  • Receive incoming inventory and WIP, record on-line in appropriate computer record.
  • Process a variety of reports to locate PO# and verify routing and receiving.
  • Separate and route products to assembly or to inventory.
  • Process a variety of reports to identify open orders and create shipping plans.
  • Manage the order database and coordinate with the Shipping Coordinator.
  • Review open orders, check status, review open inventory items, review out of stock items for same day delivery and coordinate appropriate communications to ensure on-time performance.
  • Prioritize workload and provide work direction to order pullers and other material handlers.
  • Put away inventory in the appropriate locations and record the transactions in the computer system.
  • Pull orders from inventory and prepare the units for shipment.
  • Create Delivery Receipts, Pick Lists, and BOL’s using the IT system.
  • Load outgoing trucks according to shipping plans, ensure loads are safe and stable to prevent damage.
  • Effectively interact with customers, drivers, and shipping carriers to coordinate shipments and satisfy open order demand.
  • Perform established quality inspections.
  • Perform the required daily machine and work area maintenance as directed, ensure that aisles are swept daily, scrap sheets, plastic bands, wood chunks and old tags are discarded when discovered.
  • Participate in periodic staff meetings as required of the position.
  • Participate in periodic development and training programs as required.
  • Establish and maintain a “Team Atmosphere”.
  • Performs a variety of miscellaneous job-related tasks as may be assigned from time-to-time by a Management Representative.
