About The Position

This role serves as a Production Specialist Lead, overseeing daily work direction for manufacturing personnel and assisting supervisors in achieving departmental goals. The position requires a deep understanding of business concepts and functional areas, with the ability to interpret advanced data for complex problem-solving within a quality system environment. The Lead will coach, train, and motivate manufacturing staff, manage discrepant product disposition, and ensure adherence to procedures. They will also act as a liaison between manufacturing and support groups, and may temporarily assume supervisory duties. This role involves planning and organizing complex project assignments, establishing priorities, and developing innovative solutions. Recommendations for continuous quality improvement are also a key aspect of this position.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years of related work experience.
  • Applies extensive knowledge of business concepts, procedures, and practices.
  • Complete understanding of fundamentals in a functional area and working knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Utilizes and interprets advanced data to present documentation and analysis to resolve complex problems.
  • Ability to perform tasks within a quality system environment.
  • Ability to perform extremely complex or specialized assignments requiring independent work.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates daily work direction for manufacturing personnel.
  • Assist the supervisor in supporting and developing action plans to achieve departmental goals.
  • Coach, train, motivate, and enhance the morale of manufacturing personnel.
  • Disposition and process discrepant product or material for rework or MRB according to procedures.
  • Ensure that manufacturing personnel follow the appropriate procedures.
  • Understand all operations support systems including traceability and documentation systems.
  • Provide feedback for use in performance appraisals and periodic coaching of manufacturing personnel.
  • Ensure the training of new manufacturing personnel to the team.
  • Act as liaison for manufacturing and support groups such as engineering, technicians, production control, and management.
  • Temporarily act as supervisor when the supervisor is absent.
  • Plans and organizes project assignments of substantial variety and complexity.
  • Initiates or maintains schedule for projects and project milestones.

  • Solves complex problems requiring extensive interpretation of procedures and practices to provide leadership.
