About The Position

Responsible for all activities associated with production within the United Rotorcraft Division including machining of parts, assembly, wire harness fabrication, component wiring, composites, upholstery, paint, and aircraft maintenance. This role involves reviewing manpower and capacity requirements, defining and coordinating department needs based on workload and schedules, and prioritizing workflow to meet schedule commitments. There is a strong emphasis on schedule integrity and LEAN manufacturing processes. The position also involves initiating personnel status changes, ensuring direct reports are adequately trained, maintaining a safe work environment, participating in production meetings, providing estimates for proposals, and coordinating with other departments such as Program Management, Quality, and Engineering. Regular scheduled attendance is an essential function of this position.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (A.A./A.S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five (5) years of trade, vocational school required.
  • Demonstrated experience with manufacturing and production processes.
  • Good communication, analytical, and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to read and exchange information using the e-mail and internet system.
  • Ability to read blueprints and operate equipment relative to area of responsibility.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate required
  • Subject to drug and/or alcohol testing per the DOT/FAA requirements (pre-employment, random, reasonable cause/suspicion, post-accident).

Nice To Haves

  • FAA Repair Station supervisory experience desired.
  • Experience relative to aerospace and DoD programs highly desired
  • Experience on Bell Helicopters, Airbus and MD Helicopters preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of aircraft painting helpful, but not required.
  • Knowledge in MS Project preferred
