About The Position

The Production Shift Supervisor assists the Production Team Leader in managing operations through effective use of production team members and equipment. The role works to improve team productivity and efficiency while ensuring Standard Operating Procedures are followed, and reports directly to the Production Manager.

The supervisor oversees dough production and sanitation, maintains product quality and consistency, supports audits and training, and helps manage staffing, labor costs, inventory, and departmental records. The role also provides hands-on production-floor support for approximately 20% of the workday and performs the Production Team Leader’s duties during that person’s absence.

Responsibilities

• Supervise dough production and sanitation operations to ensure product quality and consistency.
• Develop, introduce, evaluate, and conduct training on departmental SSOPs aligned with BRC code.
• Maintain dough quality and consistency through systemized checks and balances and QA requirements per BRC code.
• Support monthly internal Quality audits and yearly external BRC audits.
• Supervise the production team’s daily tasks and assist with scheduled team meetings and timely performance reviews.
• Conduct annual departmental retraining in Safety, GMPs, and Quality/BRC through classroom and hands-on instruction.
• Assist the Team Leader with labor-cost control through planning, scheduling, and on-the-job training.
• Perform daily inventory counts and assist the Team Leader with ordering product when necessary.
• Verify Team Member timecards and complete sign-off through Workday.
• Address and resolve Team Member complaints and attendance issues, including supporting documentation.
• Order and maintain QCC operational supplies within budget margins.
• Assist on the production floor with receiving bulk ingredients, rotating breaks and lunches, unloading trays, and loading storage trailers; this accounts for approximately 20% of the workday.
• Maintain accurate and complete departmental records, including MES inputs for Production shifts.
• Support the Production Team Leader in daily pre-shift meetings covering Safety, Quality, People, and Cost.
• Perform the duties of the Production Team Leader in their absence.
