About The Position
Air Distribution Technologies is seeking a Production Setup / Operator to join our ASC facility in Tarboro, North Carolina. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press equipment to support manufacturing operations. The position plays a key role in ensuring production efficiency, product quality, and adherence to safety standards while supporting overall plant performance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior experience operating manufacturing equipment, preferably presses
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and work instructions
- Mechanical aptitude with basic troubleshooting and maintenance skills
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and obtain/maintain certification
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
Nice To Haves
- Experience in sheet metal or HVAC manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance processes
- Experience working in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment
- Previous experience with press operations or similar machinery
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate press equipment according to production requirements and specifications
- Review work instructions, blueprints, and part specifications to prepare for production
- Position parts and subassemblies using templates, measurements, and technical drawings
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machines to ensure optimal performance
- Monitor production output to ensure quality standards and specifications are met
- Identify and resolve minor production issues or escalate to supervisors as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as required (certification required)
