About The Position

The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules that align customer demand, inventory objectives, and manufacturing capacity. This position coordinates the flow of materials and production activities across manufacturing operations to ensure on-time delivery, optimal inventory levels, and efficient utilization of resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Production Scheduling, Production Control, Materials Planning, Inventory Control, or a related manufacturing function.
  • Manufacturing experience required

Nice To Haves

  • plastic injection molding experience preferred
  • APICS/CPIM certification or training is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to meet customer demand, forecast requirements, and inventory targets.
  • Plan and schedule production across manufacturing work centers based on customer orders, capacity, material availability, and delivery requirements.
  • Review and adjust production schedules daily to ensure priorities align with customer commitments and business objectives.
  • Issue and maintain production/shop orders in accordance with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and the Master Production Schedule.
  • Monitor production performance against schedule and make adjustments as needed to achieve delivery and efficiency targets.
  • Coordinate molding, assembly, and secondary operation requirements to ensure a consistent flow of materials throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Maintain targeted Finished Goods (FG) and Work-in-Process (WIP) inventory levels.
  • Validate production schedules against available raw materials, components, packaging materials, and resource availability.
  • Perform capacity analysis to evaluate labor, equipment, tooling, and production resources needed to meet demand.
  • Monitor inventory trends and collaborate with Inventory Control to minimize inventory variances and prevent shortages or excess stock.
  • Coordinate production transfers to alternate facilities or external sources when capacity constraints require.
  • Work closely with Customer Service to acknowledge customer orders and establish realistic delivery commitments.
  • Partner with Engineering to coordinate new product introductions (NPI) and ensure a smooth transition from launch to full production.
  • Provide timely communication regarding production status and schedule adherence for customer programs.
  • Support proactive planning efforts to minimize downtime and maximize manufacturing efficiency.
  • Track and analyze scheduling, inventory, and service-related key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Review and maintain planning parameters within ERP/MRP systems to ensure data accuracy and effective production planning.
