Production Scheduler

Tenneco•Greenville, MI

About The Position

The Production Scheduler owns the plant demand-to-delivery execution loop, converting customer demand and releases into a credible production schedule and controlling daily build execution. The role optimizes work-in-process (WIP) and finished-goods inventory, protects shipment commitments, and leads the plant sales and operations execution (S&OE) cadence. Under P3 Integrated Supply Chain, the scheduler creates an aligned view of demand, capacity, materials, inventory, risks, and recovery priorities. The scheduler manages customer forecasts, releases, orders, lead times, requirements, scorecards, and demand volatility; builds executable schedules that balance customer priorities, capacity, changeovers, materials, labor, inventory, and flow; and controls schedule changes while communicating tradeoffs. The role releases and monitors orders, tracks build performance against schedule, identifies constraints, coordinates recovery, and aligns ERP data with shop-floor execution. The position controls backlog, shipment attainment, OTD/OTIF, scorecards, and recovery commitments, escalating risks early and communicating clearly with customers. It leads daily and weekly reviews connecting demand, supply, production, inventory, logistics, and customer actions, with clear owners and due dates. The intended outcomes include reliable connection of customer demand to production and shipment, improved schedule stability and adherence, stronger customer delivery, healthy WIP and finished-goods inventory, and effective short-horizon decision-making.
