About The Position

SUMMARY Provides planning of demand, capacity, inventory and other production drivers to ensure proper management of demand and supply that support company objectives. Supports, coordinates with, and participates with other functional team members to provide excellent on-time-delivery and customer service as well as achieves other company goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy of all inventories, which may include allocation and shipping of material and/or inventory control. Implements visual Kanban programs internally and supports such activities with Sourcing/Operations/Key Suppliers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for overall production planning, capacity planning, scheduling, prioritization, and tracking/monitoring of production activities. Provides the plant with proper capacity planning to ensure feasible and achievable production schedules. Other responsibilities included are: Establishes and supervises production scheduling activities by monitoring available capacity, inventory, tracking progress of production and performance against customer expectations for lead time and on time delivery Ensures focus for continuous improvement of working capital, inventory control, and production planning systems Maintains ERP/MRP system parameters and processes, generates exception reports to audit the timeliness and accuracy of MRP data Develops and maintains effective relationships with internal and/or external customers in all areas relating to availability of product and resources, Sales Order changes, work order entry and scheduling, committed delivery dates, customer related research, and capacity planning in order to communicate and coordinate efforts of the business Key metrics such as On-Time-Delivery, Working Capital Turns and other targets-to-improve or key performance indicators (TTIs or KPIs). Reports status and improvement activities regarding capacity requirements, backlog status, order tracking and priorities, raw material requirements, shop floor reporting or other required reporting. Provides leadership to maintain and improve inventory control including inventory accuracy and proper stocking levels

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university (Business, Supply Chain, or Technical preferred).
  • Three years of progressive experience in professional manufacturing materials position(s) is desired
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems, as well as manufacturing process and procedures, and the ability to share this knowledge with others.
  • Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement
  • Strong project management skills
  • Advanced customer interface skills
  • A team player that can relate to people at all levels of the organization and possesses excellent communication skills
  • An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and a positive professional image
  • Ability to be flexible and able to function comfortably in a fast paced, constantly changing and ambiguous environment
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, suppliers, and employees

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
  • Ability to apply concepts such as percentages, ratios, and proportions to job-related situations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Computer skills – General MS-Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills are mandatory; advanced skills in Excel is beneficial.
  • Skill in Crystal report writing is a plus

  • APICS/ISM/Supply Chain certification is preferred
  • Experience choosing and implementing an ERP system is valued
