The primary role and responsibility will be planning and scheduling of machines by Work Center, taking into account customer demands, machine efficiency, and availability of materials and capacity. Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in planning/scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience working with a computer based MRP system.
  • Experience with Excel and Word.
  • Display good communication skills.
  • Models effective team player behavior.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize customer on-time shipments and maintain inventory targets.
  • Provide timely and accurate machine schedules and production job releases in assigned manufacturing areas.
  • Monitor and adjust levels of capacity and production output in order to execute manufacturing schedules.
  • Maintain close contact with Production supervisors and other key stakeholders to review schedule and production expectations.
  • Review demand for certain purchased raw materials. Place purchase orders with vendors as needed to coordinate raw material to production schedule.
  • Provide order status communication to Customer Service with emphasis on available to ship date, define customer service impacts, and provide alternative actions to resolve potential problems.
  • Support and maintain the introduction of all new products by established target dates.
  • Provide all required job paperwork (labels, material pick lists, routings, drawings) to production.
  • Review Bills of Materials for accuracy on both new and existing products.
  • Understand and perform job order reconciliation and closure transactions as necessary.
