About The Position

Boyd Corp is seeking a Production Scheduler to support shop floor production activities. The role involves gathering system data to generate production schedules based on material requirements, analyzing and updating system minimum requirements to maintain appropriate stock levels, and generating necessary documentation, records, and reports. The Production Scheduler will also perform daily cycle counts and analyze and resolve work order variances. Requirements

  • 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Strong communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with MS Office platforms (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Experience with ERP System using planning, work orders and inventory management.

Nice To Haves

  • BS degree preferred but not required.
  • Scheduling knowledge.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Review Sales Order Ship report and work with Customer Service to determine work order priority and develop the production schedule, planning to maximize utilization, minimize waste, and yield On-Time Delivery (OTD) of 98% or better.
  • Manage Firm-planned and Planned orders, or customer forecasts if available, to balance production workloads by work center in advance.
  • Release production orders based on material availability. Work with purchasing to expedite materials or tooling as necessary.
  • Work with Customer Service and the Ops team to respond expediently to Customer requests for Drop-ins and Pull-ins.
  • Work with Operations to identify capacity constraints and suggest possible solutions.
  • Schedule production orders of similar materials or processes to optimize efficiency whenever the schedule allows. Work with production leadership and employees to develop optimal scheduling strategy.
  • Assure work orders are closed in an accurate manner with variances resolved and track issues identified.
  • Perform inventory checks as required.
