About The Position

You will be responsible for carrying out production and offline scheduling, inventory levels control and distribution to balance the level of customer service and service cost, according to S&OP guidelines. Ensure operational efficiencies of all manufacturing processes through use of the production scheduling process to improve overall product quality, cost, and customer satisfaction through on time and full fulfillment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in plant operations or equivalent required.
  • Experience in activities related to production planning.
  • Maintain a high level of communication with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to respond timely to requests and inquiries as needed.
  • PC-proficient with software programs including data-based programs, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Proficient use of SAP & QMOS systems.
  • Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Conflict negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform and prioritize a variety of analytical tasks with minimum supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree preferred but not required.
  • APICS module: BSCM preferred.
  • SAP-ECC and production scheduling preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the execution of the internal plant scheduling processes (Melt Shop, Rolling Mill, Offline Saw, etc.) both from a routine and improvement perspective which involve production schedules, work orders generation, SKU creation, etc.
  • Generates production orders and manages through their life cycle, including creation and sequences of production orders from beam blank PO’s, rolling schedule, offline orders, etc. in these process areas: Melt Shop Production Schedule, Billet Yard Management, Rolling Mill Production Schedule, Offline Production Schedule.
  • Execute based on standardized S&OP guidelines.
  • Works with Logistics and identifies opportunities to utilize unassigned inventory to fulfill orders.
  • Ensures seamless integration between scheduling, operational departments, and sales groups through effective communications with all parties.
  • Ensures visibility of key production order milestones.
  • Manage the process to ensure timely production reconciliation of all beam blank orders and finished good production orders. If any deviations are detected, they assess the situation and take appropriate corrective action to address the situation and communicate with all key stakeholders to ensure adequate resolution.
  • Executes updating routines for finished goods and WIP inventories to ensure accuracy and efficient working capital management.
  • Analyzes and makes required adjustments considering supply chain guidelines and opportunities to enhance customer service.
  • Work closely with the Scheduler and serve as a backup for that role as needed.
