About The Position

The Production Scheduler is responsible for creating and maintaining a schedule that will efficiently utilize the available manufacturing resources to meet customer demand and to maintain optimal inventory levels of finished goods. The successful Production Scheduler will utilize MRP as well as a thorough understanding of the manufacturing process to anticipate and resolve problems and will work with the entire Operations team to continually improve the process that will serve to enhance customer service. Scheduling of intercompany requirements and materials between the different facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required preferably in Business Management or Administration with concentration in Supply chain and logistics
  • Two to four years previous scheduling, supply chain, customer service, or sales experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Two to four years previous customer service, or sales experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Good working knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, database, presentation, e-mail
  • Meticulously detail-oriented; highly organized
  • Good interpersonal skills including ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal with internal and external customers
  • Ability to prioritize to meet deadlines and multi-task

  • Motivated self-starter who can work independently and is proactive
  • Adaptable to any kind of situation and the ability to think outside the box in finding creative solutions

Responsibilities

  • Defines production schedule for all work centers to optimize customer satisfaction.
  • Uses MRP demand and interaction with Supply Chain team and Customer Service to set priority and establish schedule in SAP.
  • Provides schedule to production supervision and material handlers.
  • Works closely with Operation team to monitor the progress of daily production against set schedule to ensure timely and efficient completion of the production schedule.
  • Maintains data in SAP including but not limited to, lead times, assigned work centers for specific products and work center capacity.
  • Utilizes work center capacity to define optimum amount of work per day and shift.
  • Audits production orders and questions any inaccuracies or discrepancies in labor applied or material issued to each production order.
  • Analyzes root causes of delinquent orders and recommends corrective actions.
  • Creates / utilizes visual tools to communicate the schedule, deviations and adherence.
  • Proactively communicates deviations to promised availability dates to customer service.
  • Responds to customer service issues in a timely manner always looking for creative ways to fulfill material needs to include expediting, recommending alternative solutions, and completing partial orders as the situation dictates.
  • Communicates with buyers to resolve any and all material issues.
  • Monitors back orders and expedites orders as necessary.
  • Regularly reports performance against key measures and metrics.
  • Works with Supply Chain Manager in order to optimize schedules.
  • Operates all equipment in a safe and professional manner, while completing tasks on a timely basis.
  • Keeps work area clean and well organized and assists in keeping entire facility in the same condition.
  • Works within the guidelines of ISO and EHS.
  • Understands the DWK Quality Policy and relevant Quality Objectives.
  • Recognize his/her contribution to the effectiveness of the OPS including the benefits of improved performance and comprehend the impact or effect of not conforming with OPS.
  • Observe all safety precautions, rules and regulations and maintains work area in a clean and safe manner.
  • Complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
