JOB SUMMARY: The Production Scheduler schedules production activities for all Emmerson Packaging equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel software programs.
  • Must understand industrial equipment capabilities, production processes, and operational constraints to effectively plan and optimize manufacturing schedules
  • Must have superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have demonstrated strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must have strong time management and organizational skills
  • Must have demonstrated strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy; detail-oriented
  • Must have the ability to understand and coordinate with multiple departments including production, customer service, sales, product data teams, and marketing to ensure scheduling decisions align with business priorities and customer commitments
  • Must have the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple urgent scheduling requests while maintaining production objectives and meeting customer commitments in a dynamic manufacturing environment
  • Must be a self-directed professional who can independently manage work center scheduling priorities, make time-sensitive decisions, and proactively address production challenges with minimal supervision
  • High School diploma, or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of flexographic print production equipment
  • College Diploma in Business/Administration/Supply Chain or Mechanical/Industrial Technology
  • Two years experience in a scheduling/production planning role in a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience utilizing ERP Software (SAP, Syspro, SAGE, Infor M3, JD Edwards) or Manufacturing Execution Systems or Advanced Planning and Scheduling Software.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and schedules production orders through the utilization of SAP.
  • Plans and coordinates cost center utilization for maximum productivity.
  • Recommends continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Ensures inventory and WIP targets are met.
  • Determines and communicates Job Order completion dates.
  • Interacts with internal departments for all planning activities.
  • Coordinates availability of artwork, plates, and film.
  • Resolves and communicates scheduling and resource conflicts.
  • Attends regular production planning and coordination meetings.
  • Plans equipment downtime for maintenance planning.
