About The Position

This position ensures the timely delivery of products to customers by creating and managing robust production schedules across multiple production lines. The role supports Production, Sales, Planning, and Leadership by providing accurate production dates and generating reports to monitor capacity constraints. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining production schedules, collaborating with Planning to support sales order ship dates, and identifying material shortages while working with Controls-Inventory Control staff to resolve issues. Additional duties include assisting with BOM (Bill of Materials) management and responding to inquiries regarding order lead times.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of production processes and manufacturing methods is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills are required.
  • Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Word.
  • Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Excel: skills at this level include the ability to proficiently work with multi-sheet workbooks, basic formulas, and creating charts.
  • Adjusts to priority changes with little notice and to remain calm during confrontational or high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to use sound judgement and follow through in problem solving and decision making processes.
  • Must be willing and able to travel.
  • Must be able to comply with current travel regulations and guidelines of airlines and destination locations.
  • Must be able to meet and maintain Orenco's approved driver criteria; a valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record, current insurance on personal vehicle, and meet company insurability requirements.
  • Regular job duties include seeing, speaking, hearing, reading, writing, legible handwriting, keyboarding, prolonged periods of sitting including extended time viewing a computer screen.
  • Intermittent physical activity includes but is not limited to touching, holding, grasping, pushing, pulling, reaching above shoulders and below knees, low back bending, twisting, turning, kneeling, crawling, stooping, squatting. standing, walking, and climbing stairs and ladders.
  • Unassisted light lifting and/or carrying of under 20 lbs. is required.
  • May also include occasional unassisted lifting and/or carrying of up to 50 lbs., lifting and/or carrying over 50 lbs. must be assisted.
  • Operation of a motor vehicle and/or airplane travel may be required.
  • Travel needs are determined by the department supervisory staff based on business need, required skill base, and assigned job tasks and responsibilities.
  • Travel may require the ability to visit project sites that are situated on a variety of developed and undeveloped terrain/locations.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in management preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
  • APICS (formerly known as American Production and Inventory Control Society) CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) certification preferred.
  • Experience with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain detailed production schedules based on customer orders, available capacity, and material availability.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, planning, production, engineering, and other department staff and teams to ensure a smooth production workflow and proactively address any issues.
  • Ensure that required materials and supplies are available in a timely manner to meet production demands quick responses to production issues.
  • Identify and resolve scheduling issues, including material shortages, capacity constraints, and equipment malfunctions, to minimize production disruptions.
  • Monitor and track production progress, analyze scheduling and capacity data, and provide performance reports to leadership.
  • Communicate schedule changes, updates, and potential risks to all relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely decision-making.
  • Coordinate delivery of parts to expedite flow of material to meet production schedule.
  • Support BOM management as assigned.
  • Regular, consistent, and predictable attendance is required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
