About The Position

Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture of products by performing the following duties: Responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating products through the complete production cycle. Monitor production activity to ensure a smooth and controlled flow of materials times to meet production requirements. Works on a wide variety of complex planning activities where production techniques are new or variable. Responsible for recording production control shipping information and inventory transactions on manufacturing software system. Works from engineering plans and production specifications to establish production schedules, labor loading and capacity requirements. Reschedules in case of design changes, labor and material shortages, backlog and other interruptions. Performs a variety of clerical duties including kitting, recording transactions both manually and on automated system, handling in-house shrinkage reports and filing leftover hardware. Troubleshoots and follows up on potential schedule problems.

Requirements

  • Functional command of the English language, both written and oral.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and procedures as required.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, managers, and other production workers.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, diameter, circumference, and volume, and to interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience working with an automated ERP or MRP system.
  • Ability to read and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • AA degree and three (3) to five (5) years comparable experience in production control; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Visual Manufacturing software is preferred and would be considered an asset.
