About The Position

As a Production Scheduler, key responsibilities include performing routine clerical duties in receiving, sorting, processing, and distributing tallies, addendums, and blueprints to the appropriate department. This role involves interpreting prints to determine proper size and quantity of material to minimize drop, originating requisitions, and developing production schedules for each production department. The scheduler will determine proper quantities of cold-formed members to be run and input required information into the computer for transfer to the purlin department. Additional support is provided through routing parts to the purlin department and processing requisitions for the panel and flashing departments. The role also includes reviewing tallies to ensure correct component quantities for orders, documenting the receiving of addendums and matching them with the proper job, and performing other clerical duties as needed during teammate absences. The position works under the general supervision of the Production Control Supervisor, following established procedures and communicating with supervisors, group leaders, purchasing personnel, and other clerks. Key tasks include running jobs, making copies of released jobs for plant production areas, distributing component/QSR information for timely production, generating miscellaneous reports (e.g., MBMA, bonus, piece counts), creating part tags for individual project parts, responding to routing appropriately, placing routings in fabrication schedules, running production and deliverables meetings, attending division meetings, communicating with production control and purchasing teams about routings, creating the production and routing schedule, filling in where necessary, and assisting with coverage in similar administrative positions. Safety is paramount, and candidates must demonstrate the ability to uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.

Requirements

  • Understanding and Reading Blueprints
  • Must have experience with AI, Coding, and or Software System Programming
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with BOMS, SICM, PITTS, Cold Form Release, and Weld Inspection software
  • Understanding the capabilities of machinery and equipment as well as production processes and materials used in fabricating the company’s products.

Responsibilities

  • Determine proper quantities of cold-formed members to be run and input required information into computer for transfer to terminal in purlin department.
  • Provide additional support through the routing of parts to the purlin department and processing of requisitions for the panel and flashing departments.
  • Review tallies to determine that correct quantity of components for orders has been listed.
  • Document receiving of addendums and match with proper job.
  • Perform other clerical duties as required in the event of fellow teammate absences.
  • Communicate with supervisors, group leaders, purchasing personnel, and other clerks as required in performing their daily duties.
  • Run jobs; make copies of released jobs for multiple areas and positions in the plant for production.
  • Distribute component/QSR information so that they can be produced in a timely fashion.
  • Generate miscellaneous reporting; production reports to MBMA, bonus reports, piece counts etc.
  • Create part tags used to identify individual project parts and or pieces generated from SICM.
  • Respond to routing appropriately.
  • Place routings in fabrication schedules in a timely manner.
  • Run production and deliverables meetings, as well as attend appropriate division meetings.
  • Effectively communicate with production control and purchasing team members about routings.
  • Create the production and routing schedule.
  • Fill in where necessary.
  • Assist with coverage in similar administration like positions throughout the office.
  • Perform other related duties as required and directed.
