About The Position

The Production Scheduler I is responsible for performing routine clerical duties related to receiving, sorting, processing, and distributing production-related documents such as tallies, addendums, and blueprints. This role involves interpreting prints to determine material size and quantity, minimizing waste, originating requisitions, and developing production schedules for various departments. The scheduler will also input required information into the computer system, route parts, process requisitions, review tallies for accuracy, and assist with clerical duties during teammate absences. The position operates under the general supervision of the Production Control Supervisor and requires communication with supervisors, group leaders, purchasing personnel, and other clerks. Key tasks include copying released jobs, distributing component and QSR information, generating miscellaneous reports (e.g., MBMA, bonus reports, piece counts), creating part tags, managing routings in fabrication schedules, running and attending production meetings, and communicating effectively with the production control and purchasing teams. The role also involves creating the production and routing schedule and providing administrative support and coverage in similar positions as needed.

Requirements

  • Understanding and Reading Blueprints
  • Must have experience with AI, Coding, and or Software System Programming
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with BOMS, SICM, PITTS, Cold Form Release, and Weld Inspection software
  • Understanding the capabilities of machinery and equipment as well as production processes and materials used in fabricating the company’s products.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine clerical duties in receiving, sorting, processing, and distributing tallies, addendums, and blueprints.
  • Interpret prints to determine proper size and quantity of material to minimize drop, originate requisitions, and develop production schedules for each production department.
  • Determine proper quantities of cold-formed members to be run and input required information into computer for transfer to terminal in purlin department.
  • Provide additional support through the routing of parts to the purlin department and processing of requisitions for the panel and flashing departments.
  • Review tallies to determine that correct quantity of components for orders has been listed.
  • Document receiving of addendums and match with proper job.
  • Perform other clerical duties as required in the event of fellow teammate absences.
  • Work under general supervision of Production Control Supervisor, following established procedures.
  • Communicate with supervisors, group leaders, purchasing personnel, and other clerks as required.
  • Run jobs; make copies of released jobs for multiple areas and positions in the plant for production.
  • Distribute component / QSR information so that they can be produced in a timely fashion.
  • Generate miscellaneous reporting, including production reports to MBMA, bonus reports, and piece counts.
  • Create part tags used to identify individual project parts and or pieces generated from SICM.
  • Respond to routing appropriately.
  • Place routings in fabrication schedules in a timely manner.
  • Run production and deliverables meetings, as well as attend appropriate division meetings.
  • Effectively communicate with production control and purchasing teammates about routings.
  • Create the production and routing schedule.
  • Fill in where necessary and assist with coverage in similar administration like positions throughout the office.
  • Perform other related duties as required and directed.
  • Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
