Production Quality Intern (Summer 2027)
About The Position
Astranis is building the next generation of smaller, lower-cost telecommunications satellites to bring the world online. This role involves working with Design, Production, Quality, and Test engineering teams to develop inspection and verification procedures, support root cause analysis for non-conformance issues, and implement corrective actions. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data for continuous improvement in quality, support process and systems development, and develop dashboards and metrics to monitor factory health. No prior space experience is needed, but a passion for hardware development and manufacturing systems, hands-on experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential. Requirements
- A passion for hardware development and manufacturing systems, including working in a fast-paced environment and hands-on design and development
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must be onsite 5 days a week
- U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status Required
Nice To Haves
- Previous internship or coursework experience in a similar role
- Experience with quality management systems or hardware manufacturing
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL
- Direct electrical or mechanical design experience
- Demonstrated ability to debug hardware and software problems under time pressure
Responsibilities
- Work with Design, Production, Quality, and Test engineering teams to develop inspection and verifications procedures
