About The Position

Join Riverhead Building Supply, a leading building materials company with over 800 employees across Long Island, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. We are looking for a detail-oriented Production/Purchasing Associate to support the planning, purchasing, and production of millwork, interior doors, and molding products, ensuring materials, inventory, and vendor relationships are effectively managed.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret specifications, contracts, and construction documents.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

1-2 years of purchasing, inventory, or related experience preferred.
Knowledge of doors, millwork products, and related building materials.
Experience with millwork manufacturing, interior door production, molding operations, or related building materials is a plus.

Responsibilities

Support the purchasing, planning, and production of custom millwork, interior doors, and molding products within our manufacturing facility.
Procure raw materials, components, and finished goods to meet production schedules and inventory requirements.
Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate inventory and production reports.
Coordinate with vendors on pricing, lead times, product availability, and delivery schedules.
Issue and track purchase orders to ensure materials are received on time and production remains on schedule.
Partner with manufacturing teams to support efficient workflow, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Build strong vendor relationships while identifying cost-saving and process improvement opportunities.
